one of the best thanksgivings yet

"hey everyone is here Alex!" my mom yelled.

I thought to myself, "ugh.. here comes another boring thanksgiving." My dads side of the family had just showed up to my house for thanksgiving like they do every year. I usually am bored out of my mind. All we ever do is eat and then the old people sit in the dinning room and play rook. I hate that game because i don't know how to play it. IT was different this year they didn't play. I was so surprised. I thought hey it may not be that bad. We all ended up sitting in the living room and talking with each other. I really enjoyed that because i don't really know much about my dad side of the family because they live in a different town.

So again i thought to myself wow i had a really good time maybe this year thanksgiving will be good. Then my mind changed very quickly when i found out we would be going to my aunts house from my moms side of the family. This doesn't sound very bad at first but the thing that makes it bad is my moms sisters in laws were coming. What makes that so bad is they are from Michigan. I hate going to see them because they are all loud , annoying and the worst radical liberals.

We get to my aunts house and o my gosh there was so much food it looked Delicious and it tasted that way to. Another thing about my relatives from Michigan is they love to drink and my immediate family does not drink. So the night went on and they got drunker and drunker. They also got a whole lot funnier . Then I'm talking to someone and my uncle grabs me and wants to wrestle. He was obviously drunk because i am way bigger than him . I ended up whipping him many times because he would say i quite and then grab me again after i let him up. Then i made friends with my cousin and had a great rest of the night. This has been the best thanksgiving yet and i think its because i actually tried to interact with my family and not sit in my room by myself.

the brothel auction

Last week i was asked to be auctioned off by my fraternity, Sigma Chi. At first i thought i thought that's kinda weird and trashy, but then i heard that the money raised for this event would go to helping cure cancer. So after thinking about it i thought, okay well I'm going to be auctioned off for a three hour date with a girl it cant be that bad. So i told my fraternity i was fine with doing it. The rules of the auction were bids start off at five dollars and the winner of the person being auctioned off would get a three hour date with that person.

So i figured being one of the younger guys i would not go for very much money at all. So i show up about twenty minutes early as i was instructed and come to find out everyone was supposed to have a theme and i didn't have one great i was screwed. Some guys had floaties, some guys were old rappers and one guy was a cheerleader so now i was really screwed because i all wore was a button shirt and jeans.

All the guys went and i was one of the last ones to go. At that time the most money raised on a single guy was about sixty dollars. I was going to be content with making ten dollars so i walked up there and girls started to bid i was shocked. The bids went to ten dollars and i thought o wow that's good . Then it went up even more to twenty dollars and i thought well that's really good for me . So i stood there for a few more minutes and the bids kept going and then i hear sold to the Savannah. I turn to look at the MC and he says Alex Hutto has went for eighty dollars. I was shocked. I had went for the most money out of every one. So now i must wait to hear from my date and part two of this blog will written after the date.

extra credit ..... Hopefully lol

i watched a movie tonight it was called second hand lions. Its a very good movie. IT really touched my heart and almost made me cry. I give the movie an 8 out of 10. I watched it with my family and it brought us closer together i felt like. IT has a great group of actors the young boy whose name slips my mind as of right now plays the role very well. the plot of the story is also good it keeps you interested.Many stories are told in this movie and that makes the movie even more interesting. The movie also has a great plot its about to old men who end up babysitting a boy for the summer and they really bond with the boy and become best friends. the old men come to love the boy and the boy loves them. They end up living together until the boy moves out and then the two old men die in a plane crash which is really sad but the ending ends up being really good. I would recommend this movie to all ages because its very entertaining yet deep and intellectual. It also touches your heart and everyone needs a good cry now and then. If you get some time you should rent it and watch it with a loved one or your family because its a great movie all around.(I hope this gets me some extra credit because I'm going to need some to get a good grade lol)

READINGS OVER THE REVIEWS

At first i was very nervous about writing a review because i have no clue how to write over four hundred words with out telling what happened in the movie or at the dinner. I began to read the the readings that were assigned and the first one i read was the one about Dawson's Creek. I have never seen this show but after reading this i know the main plot of the show. The writing tells the major plots and the controversial issues that make the story interesting. The writing talks about how parents don't like this show because of how controversial it is, but the writer tells about how it actually addresses real problems that teens deal with today. This writing is a good example of what a review should look like.
The second reading that i encountered was a review over a restaurant. This is a good example of how to review a restaurant. It began to talk about the food and how it tasted. This is the best thing to do when reviewing a restaurant because that is the main reason many people go to a restaurant. Then there are people who go to restaurant like professor Andy does who go for the luxury and the entertainment of eating with friends. The second thing to talk about when reviewing a restaurant is the service and cleanliness of the place. This is a good example of how to write a review on a restaurant but for me that might be the hardest thing to write about because i just don't see that there could be that much to write about a restaurant.
The third reading might for me be the easiest thing to write about, a movie. This reading reviews the movie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I believe this would be the easiest to wright about because there is so much to write about the movie. Movies usually are long and have much material to talk about such as the plot the characters etc. These readings gave me a good example of how to write a review for many different things so i have decided to write my review about a movie The law abiding citizen.

The dreaded yet fun week

I figure extra credit always helps so i figured i would write about homecoming week.

Homecoming week was a week everyone was excited about and i was excited about it also. But i had no clue what i was getting myself into. Being a freshman you learn many things the hard way because its your first time for pretty much everything. I learned that homecoming week is a tough week for fraternities and sororities there are so many things to do. I thought that this week was just fun stuff and the toughest thing we do is were alot of purple. I was so wrong we have to build a float which takes for ever to do, we have to learn a cheer and a dance which turned to be the hardest thing and we have to all the spirit stuff. So this week was going to be a tough week. I showed up at the float site ready to work and O my gosh i did work but i did make many good Friends out of it. I met many hot girls and got closer to my pledge brothers. This went on every night for two weeks working late into the night. At the end of the week the float looked great and i was very proud of it actually. The cheer and dance stuff was for pep rally luckily i was smart enough not get involved with the pep rally because the girl that taught the dance was a mean physco so I'm glad i didn't do that.

There was a party at the end of the week which turned out to be fun i meet even more people and ended the week on a good note so overall i enjoyed my first homecoming and cant wait til next year

I walked into Derryberry with Ronnie by my side on the day of October 30 it was a Friday. I was very excited about what i was about to see. Ronnie had been talking about how awesome it was for like a week and a half. He even designed the poster advertising the event. The event was the step show it was its fourth year and has been a very popular event or so Ronnie said. We sat down and were ready to be amazed. One thing i didn't know was that schools from the surrounding areas were also coming to step along with the fraternities from our school. The step show was amazing, i moved to the beat and got so into the stepping.One of the best step that went on i thought was the alphas from tech but Ronnie was thoroughly convinced that the Kappas who were not from our school were the best. We left together and talked about who was the best we both had good points but we ended up agreeing to disagree.
I really enjoyed the step show but i did have some complaints about it. Like it kinda seemed unprofessional or maybe more of being unprepared. During the show a screen came down and they couldn't get it to go back up which brought down the hypness of the show. Other than that the show was a big success i thought and next year i will surely go again and hopefully i can get more friends to come with me next time because it was well worth my time. GOOOO TECH!!!!

blog on meet joe blog

i actually enjoyed reading this out of the book i usually do not like to read it but it was very interesting and i learned some things from reading that. Blogs used to not be a very big deal people just didn't care about them i was one of those people who didn't and didn't really care or even know what one was until this year in English. I am beginning to not care as much to blog because i am starting to enjoy writing.

this reading was very educational and opened my eyes to something i had no idea was going on. The book tells of how blogs impacted the world around us and how much power they actually had. I learned that there are different blogs for different reasons some are to express ideas and others are made to tell of things no one else has seen. i thought it was neat how a soldier who was in Saddam Hussein's palace described what it was like , that is awesome because anyone who is curious about it can read that and doesn't have to hear by word of mouth which spreads the story faster. It is also used to express someones real ideas with out someone going through and saying hey you cant put that or editing out the real raw things people want to keep in there writing

After reading this article out of the book i have a new found respect for blogs. I now see that blogs aren't just written because people get bored. I see they actually have a meaning behind them and have good legitimate information. Maybe by the end of the year i will turn into a blogger myself and actually do it because i really want to not because i have to. then maybe i will voice my opinions and let someone see how i really feel inside.

today in class i found the discussion very interesting . The conversation was over two forms and one form had a religious base will the other had a financial base. The first application was about how much money you made and how many family members you had and how old they were. I believe the reason that this one did not have a religious base is because like some one said in class the government gives them funding so they may not be able to put a religious affiliation on there. the reason for this is because of the fine line between religion and state.

the other form had more of religious approach to it. this approach may anger some people while to me as a practicing christian i like the idea of that form more than the other. many people in class thought that this organization was made to push or look down on someone for not believing what they believe. I believe at the least it was put on the sheet to put a bug in that persons ear to get them thinking about what those questions mean and if they like the way the answered the questions. And it also allows the people who are giving them the money or food something to talk about with them and it may even give that person the confidence to ask a question or two about that religion .

I attended the rodney adkins concert thursday and had a blast singing and dancing to the music i sat with a lot of my friends in the floor section. Phil vasser was the first to come out he had a zebra print piano which was pretty awesome and he sang and danced and put on a pretty good show. then out came rodney adkins he began to sing and was very intertaining . Many things happen at concerts and they are usually crazy and the craziest thing happened to me that night. I was standing there with two of my fraternity brothers dj and bill and ROdney adkins began to throw shirts out he had one shirt left and threw it our way it tipped off of djs hand an out of no where this very large girl dove in and almost knocked me over knocked our three chairs over and and girl behind us down on the ground. so i looked down at her and saw the shirt laying there so i picked it up and her very large mom who was very mean snatched it out of my hand and yelled at saying that it belonged to her daughter and then i hear a weird noise and i look to my left and dj and bill are literaly barking at this lady and they barked at her until she left the concert it was so funny i will never forget that night as long as i live

The culture crawl......

At first i was not at all excited about the culture crawl because the night before i had been at my first fraternity party and was very sleepy. I showed up and was very hungry i am not going to lie the breakfast was a little disapointing but hey it was free so cant complain very much. I sat down beside ronnie and stephanie two people i had not talked to very much since we began the class. we began to talk and i enjoyed talking to them. we then went into the music hall to hear some music. I really enjoyed the music despite my feelings before we went into the room. The guy that made his own song was good but it woulda been better if he woulda had a better sound system. We then began to walk i was not happy about this we then went to the backdoor playhouse then went downtown. I enjoyed this because i didnt know that was even there. Ronnie and stephanie and bonded some more as we walked. The next few things we did was kind of a blur because i was so hungry. I was very excited about eating japanese. we then had free time to do as we wanted The three of us went it to some girly store stephanie wanted to go in. we then went to a guitar store that Ronnie wanted to go into which was pretty cool. the best part was yet to come it was the japanese.They had amazing food it was sushi i love sushi. I ate so many things of sushi and even took a to go plate back with me but it didnt make it back to room though i ate it all before it got there lol The day was a great success free food good music and i made to good friends that i enjoyed my day with . I give the culture crawl a 7 on a scale of one to ten it was a fun day.

prewriting..... kinda

number one........ I jus went to the keith urban concert last week and i befor the concert i kinda liked keith urban. we got to the concert and our seats were on the floor level which was awesome. the opening act was this lady band named sugarland they were awesome. she really have a good voice. then out came keith urban he sang many songs on stage an then he took a short breAK and so i went to the bathroom and came back and heard somebody talking about him. so we sat back down he comes back out and starts to sing and walk towards my area and he walked right by me and my girlfriend an we touched him. then he sang the concert three feet away from us the rest of the night all i could say was awesome.

number two....... I have always loved to dance and always respected micheal jackson for his danceing ability and alewasy wish i could do wat he did. I always watched him growing up and jus thought maybe i could dance like that one day. but i never really practiced dancing like that. then came july the fourth and my micheal jackson died this broke my heart because i always liked him growing up. So i started to listen to all his music. and got really family with his songs my favorite song since i have been listening to his songs is smooth criminal. Also i have started practicing the moon walk and are getting decent at it. so iguess his death kind shaped me to like pop culture more.

number three........ this one deals with an actor denzel washington. he is one of the best actors in movies today my favorite movie he was in was remember the titans i love that movie its one of my favorite movies of all time along with rocky and rambo movies. but back to the story i watched this movie and loved and so then i started to watch movies with denzel in them i realized that every movie denzel was in was going to be a good movei the most recent denzel movie i have enjoyed was the movie deja vue its a great movie and i enjoyed the whole movie and encourage any one who likes a good movie to watch this movie

my feelings on the readings

I read all of the readings but the one that stood out to me at was the memior about the tomkeys. This reminds of me when i was a little kid so curious and nosey. This story was also very interesting it jus kept my attention more than the others. Maybe the writing was better or maybe i identified with this story better than the others. It reminds me of myself when i was younger always wondering why people did things or why they didnt have this or that. This story brought back a memior of my own as a young child. I always remember i had this neighbor who loved his two cats roger and hamerstein. I didnt really understand the names until i got older but thats beside the point. His name was mr. Jacobs and he did the weirdest things with his cats. He spent most of his playing with his cats and the weirdest thing he did was walk his cats. I always thought this was so weird. I would ask mom why does he do that i thought you were supposed to walk dogs not cats and she would always say jus mind your bussiness. I could never do that though. I always caught myself watching him. One day i was watching for him and he didnt come outside i said mom were is mr. Jacobs she said he has went to be with the lord. I said o no wat about his cats she said his family is trying to find a home for them. So i said lets keep them she thought about it and then said yes and to this very day we still have roger and hammerstein. Sometimes i will occasionally walk them when i come home, jus so they dont forget mr. jacobs.

personality test

I have just finished taking my personality test and i have learned a lot i learned that i was an ENFJ. I figured this is wat i would be. The test that blew my mind was the test about my politcal views. i learned that i was more authoritarian. That wasnt the part that shocked me. The part that shocked me was i learned that i am very politically close to the communist leader stallin. He was not a very good man and i dont understand how i could have the same political values as him. I am a very conservative christian and he was a power hungry leader. This does not make sense to me at all.

The first test told me that i was empathetic,responsive, and responsible all things that i strive to be i may not be these things all the time but those are the things i hope people remember me by. The test also said i was highly tuned to emotions,needs and motivations of others. This makes sense to me because my dad is very good at doing those things he can always tell when something is wrong no matter how good i hide it. The test then said i was loyal i also really strive to do that when workin on a job or something.

Im glad i took both of these test i really learned a lot about my self and i encourage anyone who is bored and curious about themselves to really consider taking this test its really fun to learn about yourself

I don't have a very in depth background in writing. i am a very slow typer hence i do not type very much. The reason i have never really been good at typing is because my dad is a very cheap man and we lived out in the country so we never had Internet at home until last year and when we did get it we got a very slow dial up so i never really wanted to get on an use the Internet seeing how this is my first blog.

Although i didn't have Internet until last year i did just recently get a face book i do enjoy commenting on that. That is one of my biggest things i type on. I also have written many papers in high school. I usually don't enjoy writing but if its something i enjoy i don't mind writing about it. i am enjoying writing this blog right because i am kind of getting to talk about what i want so its not to bad.

When writing many things have to be thought about such as purpose,audience, genre,stance and media/design. When blogging or writing in general you have to have a purpose. Like for example my purpose right now for blogging is its my assignment for my English 1010 class. If you don't have a purpose its really hard to write effectively and for people to know what your writing about so they can read it. Another thing that goes into your thought process when writing is the audience your writing to. By identifying your audience you know things you can and cant say. For example if i was writing a mass email to a bunch of my friends who love the vols i would not talk about how bad they are because then they would get mad and not listen to the rest of my email.Genre is another thing to think about is the genre your writing in. This allows your readers to know and search for the type of genre they want to read. Your stance also matters, your stance is how you feel about a certain thing an example would be my stance on abortion my stance on that is i don't agree with it.The last thing that a writer must think about is media is the way and devices we use to communicate such as the Internet and music.

The Rhetorical situation are the seven things talked about above in my very long paragraph . When i write i always think about those seven things. Without those things no one can write effectively. So it is now over i have written my very first blog i kinda enjoyed it and i am ready for class tomorrow.
